Step one: Keep a calendar on your phone. On Sunday night, write down any sports or obligations after school. As the week progresses, you can write down your assignments and find the best time to do them.
Step two: Make a To-Do List Each Day after school. Make a To-Do list. Write everything that has to get done that night first, and estimate how long each task will take. Then continue to write everything down by priority (what is due first).
Step three: Conquer the Tasks (DO NOT PROCRASTINATE) Start with the assignments due the next day. Use the Pomodoro method (25 minutes working, five minutes off). This is scientifically a solid method of time management. When the timer goes off for the five minute break, scroll on your phone/get food or something to drink. Repeat!
Step four: Come Up With Your Own Space. It’s easiest to have a dedicated space to do your work every time. Try to keep it clean so that your space does not overwhelm you. If you need motivation, try going to a coffee shop or meeting at a friend’s house to do work with them.
Step five: Take Time for Yourself. It’s important to give your mind and body a break from school, sports, and homework. Have a good meal and enjoy finally being able to doom scroll for the night at a reasonable time without worrying about completing work later when it is too late.
PRO TIP: Do your work the day you get it assigned. Trust me, it makes your life easier.
