Class of 2024 – Seniors
Student submission by: Georgia Anglin
WITHOUT A DOUBT the seniors will triumph in the most anticipated week of the school year.
Our sustained victories with commons decorating have been an integral part of our success in the past, and we have no plans to do anything less than bring Hollywood to life in our 20 foot space.
However, as seen in previous years, commons decorating cannot carry us to a win for the whole week. In the past, we have fallen short with our collections for the food and coin drive– that simply will not fly.
If we can pull ourselves together, I believe that our efforts could feed all of New London County. Not to mention our competition is pitiful. I know the freshmen are scared, the sophomores simply have no hope, and I expect the juniors will give up. Absolutely no class has the spirit, skill, or pie-eating capabilities that our star-studded seniors have. We have waited too long to take that victory lap around the gym and watch our competitors’ faces fall as they realize they stood no chance.
The underclassmen will try, and they will fail. They will talk, and they will be silenced. It is time to let fate take its course, and give the seniors the win that they deserve. 2024 ON TOP.
Class of 2025 – Juniors
Student submission by: Makenna Page
In no way will the juniors achieve any place BUT 1ST in this year’s Spirit Week, and you can count on that. The Class
of 2025, led by our astonishing, enchanting, and awe inspiring Mr. Eric Yang is hungry for the win. Never before has East Lyme High School seen a class with the dedication and diligence like the Class of 2025. Winning Spirit Week is something each and every of us ponder daily. I know the freshmen, sophomores, and seniors will put up an admirable fight, however, at the end of the day the we will demolish any attempt to take first place. Our commons decorating will exhibit New York City superbly. From the Statue of Liberty to the high skyscrapers New York displays, our small section of the commons will be transformed into the Big Apple. Our senate is working around the clock to compose an impeccable list of students fit to excel at each of our pep rally’s activities. Every year, the food drive is undermined by many classes. Not Class of 2025. We will take advantage of the jackpot of points and gain leverage on the other classes.
From Tuesday’s success you may think you jumped into a time machine back into the year 1950. No one could tell whether it was East Lyme High School or the set of “Grease”. To finish off my statement I will leave you with this: freshmen, sophomores, and seniors beware: the juniors are coming and you better be scared. #BLEEDRED
Class of 2026 – Sophomores
Student submission by: Lila Aram & Rachel Quadrato
As you may know, ‘26 did pretty garbage in last year’s pep rally.
That was solely because we were freshmen set up for failure. Seniors vs. freshmen? What kind of scam is that? It isn’t fair, but to be honest, it needs to stay that way so future freshmen classes suffer like we did. This year, we are more prepared and determined than ever. To give you a probability of the sophomore class taking the dub, I’d say 100 to nothing. We are motivated and hungry to bring home the win. Not only do we have the pep rally in the bag but we also have the Spirit Week theme dress-ups in the bag.
Our class is obviously the most prideful and eager to participate. For Color Day, green is obviously the best color. There are unlimited ideas, unlike yellow (ew), red (uh, that’s embarrassing and ugly), and let’s not even attempt to speak about blue. For example, someone could be a pickle.
Not only does that show spirit but it represents our class as a whole. Pajama Day is easy as most of our class dresses like that anyway. However, hippies might be a challenge for the weak. Any sophomore not participating in Spirit Week isn’t part of our class and doesn’t deserve a diploma (just kidding, we love everyone and support their decisions) (if you decide against dressing up I will find you and make you pay).
Class of 2027 – Freshmen

Venice: a city of art, creation, and history. All the beautiful aspects of this wonderful city have been brought to life in
the commons. The freshmen bringing Venice’s culture, colors, and fine cuisine to East Lyme High School has been the key to victory.
We gave students the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the tradition, cuisine, and culture of Italy.
Venice is a captivating city built on a network of picturesque canals, known for its timeless charm, stunning architecture, and romantic gondola rides through historic waterways. It’s a place where art, culture, and history converge, creating a unique and unforgettable destination for travelers from around the world.
We hope you experience our take on Venice for its enchanting canals, which create a unique and romantic ambiance. Its exquisite architecture, including iconic landmarks like St. Mark’s Basilica, appeals to history and art lovers alike.
The absence of cars adds to its charm, allowing visitors to explore the city at a leisurely pace, and its rich culture and culinary delights make it a captivating destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable and culturally rich experience. Capturing the essence and class of Venice will lead our class to win Spirit Week.
