After a very intense series to game seven, the No. 6 seeded Indiana Pacers advance to play the No. 1 seeded Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals(ECF).
The Pacers are a notorious under-dog team. They were written off in the first round of the playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks. However, they overcame the Bucks and took down the New York Knicks to get to the ECF. Riding on their star point-guard Tyrese Haliburton’s hot hand throughout the season, he and his counterpart forward Pascal Siakam have got the Pacers to where they are currently. Siakam is the scoring leader currently, averaging 21.1 points in the playoffs, which is followed by 18 a game from Haliburton..
The Celtics are led by superstar forward Jayson Tatum and superstar shooting guard Jaylen Brown. This duo has experience, making it to the playoffs six times before this run. Currently, Jayson Tatum leads the team in scoring, assists, and rebounds. Averaging 24 points, followed by Browns’ 23. The Celtics’ depth doesn’t end there however, having a key defensive piece in 7’ 2” Kristaps Porzingis.
Although the Pacers have shocked many by making it to where they are, I don’t think they can overcome the Celtics and their star-studded roster. Although it’ll be a good series, the Boston Celtics will take down the Indiana Pacers in five games as the Celtics have too much firepower compared to the Pacers.
