Girls’ Track:
“Overall, just the community built within our team, everyone is always helping and supporting each other and we all get to have fun because of it. I think all areas will improve pretty significantly with each category really pulling their own in the team scores,” junior Teagan Czaja said.
Boys’ Track:
“Last season, we lost a lot of our best athletes. However, we had a lot of new people step up this indoor season. This team is hardworking, as we’ve seen many athletes make major improvements over the past year and reach their own goals, as well as those of the team, in the upcoming season,” senior Gavin Fant said.
Girls’ Lacrosse:
“Our transition is always a big part of our game, so improving on that before the season starts is key. Also, ensuring that our team is in the best shape is important too and is always something we work on improving prior to the season, such as going to the weight room or doing team workouts. I’m most excited for our out of conference games, particularly schools in Fairfield county, ” junior Cassidy O’Brien said.
Boys’ Lacrosse:
“Now, as a captain, the whole team, especially the younger guys, need me to be the best leader I can. Losing that last game of the season last year made me realize how valuable it is to be on the field and how much the team really feels like family,” senior and captain Evan Bucko said.
Softball:
“Now that our team mainly consists of juniors, our goals are to keep improving by building consistency and learning from each game. I really do think we have a strong enough offense to win a lot of our games. This year, we will have stronger, and more experience pitching, and hopefully, our number of strikeouts will increase,” junior Natalie Knowlton said.
Baseball:
“We’re pretty well balanced as a team, and to speak for the seniors, this season is especially meaningful because it’s our last one together after playing alongside each other since we were little. It means a lot to finish this season together,” senior Aiden Cochrane said.
Girls’ Tennis:
“Last year at ECCs, my doubles partner, Jessica, and I came in close second, but what stuck with me the most was how many players came to support and cheer for us at the match. We have a super great team this year: skilled, determined, and very supportive of each other, so I think we’ll accomplish a lot this season,” senior Sophia Joe said.
Boys’ Tennis:
“Losing a bunch of seniors was felt by everyone on the team because of the leadership and personality that they brought to the team. However, the one thing that hasn’t changed, and will only grow, is team unity. We have a great group of guys that I know will support each other through and through. The team almost feels like a family,” senior and captain Eric Lovering said.
