Reporter Alex Salerno gives his predictions for local teams of this NFL season
OPINION OF: ALEX SALERNO
The Giants are doing horribly. Plain and simple. They need an upgrade at every position except running back. Daniel Jones is not the solution at quarterback with multiple injuries this year and almost as many interceptions (7) as touchdowns (10). The defense is also ranked 23rd in the league. I predict the Giants to finish 5-12 and miss the playoffs.
The Patriots are back. The Patriots have to be the smartest team in the league. They just drafted the successor to Tom Brady. As a rookie, Mac Jones has led the Patriots to a 9-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Mac Jones also has a statline of 2,869 passing yards, 16 touchdown passes, and 11 interceptions. The Patriots defense is also ranked 3rd in the league. I predict them to finish 12-5 and be the top seed in the AFC.
The Buffalo Bills are a mediocre team. On the Bills, you’ve got Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and Tre’Davious White, who is now injured. The Bills don’t have much star power besides those players. As of right now, they have a record of 7-6 and have lost to top tier teams such as the Patriots, the Buccaneers, and the Colts. They even lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 9-6. The Jaguars are the most dysfunctional team in the league. I predict the Bills to finish 10-7 and scrape into the playoffs.
The New York Jets…Yikes.
The Super Bowl will be the Chiefs for the AFC and the Buccaneers in the NFC. I see a Mahomes versus Brady rematch with the Chiefs taking the title, with an ending score of 35-21.
