When Oasis – a band once fractured by tension and hatred – took the stage in August 2025, the world collectively held its breath. Their Live ‘25 Tour, marking the first live performances in the United States since 2009 launched with a sold out show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and they have 10 more shows to go.
The first set of the night was popular, and alternative band Cage The Elephant. They brought such a fun and lively show hyping up the audience. As someone who didn’t think they were very familiar with Cage The Elephant, I surprisingly knew a bunch of their songs and will definitely be listening to them more.
After Cage The Elephant had left the stage, the fans got impatiant. The screens on either side of the stage lit up with posts from people around the world surprised with the fact that Oasis was getting back together, and suddenly the screens flashed saying “THIS IS NOT A DRILL,” meaning that the band is officially back and ready to perform.
From the very first notes of “Hello,” it was clear: this wasn’t a nostalgia cruise, it was a full-on punch of loud music and 90s jams. Liam Gallagher’s, (lead singer) ferocity was fierce and unrestrained while Noel Gallagher (lead guitarist), offered a steady melodic anchor to the band’s music.
The setlist paid honor to their ‘90s success, spanning “Definitely Maybe” and “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” remembering iconic anthems like “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Wonderwall,” and “Champagne Supernova,” delivered with stadium shaking passion.
The show itself was illuminating with stunning lights, blinking with every beat and every note. The chemistry between the two brothers made it seem like nothing had ever divided them in the first place. The crowd was enjoyable, too, as everyone sang along to Oasis’s famous melodies.
In less than four hours, Oasis delivered everything fans dared dream: amplified, intensified, and unforgettable. Long live the return.
