7 things to do over the summer!

MEGHANA GOGATE

Drive-thru order the food from the person in front of us challenge

Whether its Subway, Moe’s, or Panera Bread, we all have our own personalized food orders catering to our likes and dislikes, but if you’re looking for something new, what better way than to try someone else’s favorite dish or item from a fast food place. Ever since people started posting Youtube videos of this I have been wanting to try it out for myself so maybe this year’s the time!

Eat a ghost pepper

I have always, since a very young age been accustomed to spicy foods because of my Indian background. I’m not totally sure that I could try a ghost pepper but I’ve always wanted too, and if you think that you could handle the spice too, try it! But, be cautious. (please, I don’t want to be sued). If you don’t think that you can handle the ghost pepper quite yet, start with a jalapeno and go from there!

Play AP kickball

I guess this one’s more personalized toward people who took AP’s this year or are planning to take it in future years, but if you’ve heard about the stories of people breaking their legs and more surrounding AP kickball then you know its going to get intense. But if you’re up for a challenge and understand the risks, it could be a really fun moment to bond with people in your grade and make long lasting memories.

Read more books

I know that some people don’t really enjoy the concept of reading for fun because typically reading can get associated with work, difficult to understand literature and more. But when you read it can literally be anything that you like, want to read, or just something that when you read it, it brings you joy. For me, it’s reading books and that’s really what I want to do more of after this school year ends and finals are over!

Travel out of state

I feel like the more I look around East Lyme, Mystic and Waterford, the more I realize the amount of local attractions I haven’t seen, now lets compare that to states surrounding CT. There are so many tourist attractions that we’ve never even been to out of state so if you’re looking to explore something new for a low cost, take a road trip!

Art Expo

Whatever art you have made, from your art in first grade to a literal masterpiece of work, don’t be afraid to show it around and create a home art expo to enjoy your art and have other people see what you’ve made over the years. Even if you don’t think your art is good at all (mine definetly isn’t) at least you’ll get a good laugh out of seeing your “masterpieces” through the years.

Starbucks new drinks

If you’re a Starbucks fan, which I know most of you are looking at the lines of our local Starbucks, you all have your own favorite drinks to buy but if you’re looking to change up your drinks a bit, then try some new drinks this summer and who knows, you might even find your new favorite amongst them!
