Don’t be afraid of changes:
High school is all about finding where you’re most comfortable and finding your group. It’s ok to let go of past hobbies and find new things that fulfill you more.
“Don’t be afraid to make a mistake, socially or academically, High school is about change and growing into yourself,”
Editor in Chief, Jen Wallace.
Stay on top of homework:
Though it seems trivial to tell you to make sure all your work is done, it’s important to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. Try investing in a planner or writing everything down in your notes app!
“Make sure to plan out the electives you want to take such as art, vocational, and gym classes this year so you don’t get stuck trying to fill credits senior year,” Editor in Chief Sophie.
Don’t overbook:
You might think that playing field hockey, being in honors classes, and playing trumpet is a good idea and that you can handle it, but you’re going to find yourself overtired and without time to do your homework. Leave time for relaxation.
Connect with new people:
Though it can seem scary, put yourself out there and talk to new people, even if they’re older.
“Don’t stress too much about the social side of things. It’ll fall into place as you do more activities. Just let things happen,” Editor in Chief, James Ambrosini.
