Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year from the Viking Saga staff.
We hope everyone had a relaxing and refreshing summer, and we can’t wait to kick off the school year with all of you. Our team looks forward to reporting on stories that students will care about throughout the school year, meaning we hope to present a mix of interesting, fun, and meaningful pieces to the student body. The Saga staff wants to start the year by emphasizing our request in our mission statement for your, our readers’, involvement. Please reach out to us at anytime through email, Snapchat, Instagram, in A225, in the hallways, through a message on our board, or by any other means (not including showing up at our houses). We highly encourage all of our readers to contact us with story ideas, photos, opinions, and questions. As a student-led publication, we strive to ensure the Viking Saga is the voice of the student body, which can only fully represent each and every one of you with your help and participation.
The editors in chief have spent three years in A225 and want this year to be one all about representing our school’s diverse community. We don’t expect you to do all the work – that’s what we’re here for – but we would love to know what the stories are that you want to read.
In our three years in A225, we have reported on and read hundreds of pieces about the people that make up our stellar East Lyme community. We cannot wait to discover more stories this year, uncover new truths, explore new places, share opinions, and of course review lots of music and food. Our team is extremely devoted to putting in the work to making this year’s Saga a must-read and aesthetically pleasing. Our team worked on this edition all throughout the summer to ensure we are kicking off this school year strong.
